About us and comics
Since 2007, the Embassy of Japan in the UK has searched for the best comic creators in the country. There are 3 competitions across 2 categories with loads of great prizes to be won.
What is manga? Put simply, manga are comics and in Japan manga encompass a broad range of styles and themes. Create a short story told in 6, 7 or 8 pages.
What is yonkoma? Yonkoma is a comic strip in the form of 4 vertical panels.
The deadline for submissions for this year has now passed but stay tuned for the announcement of the shortlist and details on the upcoming exhibition of winning stories at the Embassy of Japan.

Our Competitions
Create a comic within 6, 7 or 8 A4 size pages. Your story can be in colour or black and white but must read from left to right.
